TriggerCalc and TriggerCalc Pro -- for ACT! versions 5 and 6
Automatic calculations are made easy with our new TRIGGERCALC add-on which allows you to make any numeric calculations using your ACT! database fields. It is mainly designed to be used in conjunction with the ACT! trigger feature which allows you to launch a program when entering or exiting a field. This way, you can automatically re-start the calculation when one of the fields involved is modified.
With TRIGGERCALC you can:
- Make any calculations between fields using the +,-,*,/ operators and copy the result in a field
- Assign the calculation to a trigger so that ACT! automatically re-calculates every time one of the fields involved is modified
TriggerCalc is the add-on you need if you want to make numeric calculations involving ACT! fields. Whether you need to add 2 fields together or do more complex calculations, TriggerCalc is what you need. This add-on is very simple to use, no user interface!: all you need to do is enter your calculation at the end of the command line. For example:
c:\triggercalc.exe /[fieldC]=[fieldA]+[fieldB]

Supports conditional statements, financial and statistical functions
The Pro version adds new features like conditional statements (if function), financial functions (FV, PMT, PV, etc.) as well as statistical functions (Min, Max, Count, CountIf, Large, etc.). Samples of what you can do with TriggerCalc Pro:
- You want FieldB="Customer" if FieldA="Yes" or else FieldB= "Prospect"
The syntax will be [FieldB]=if([FieldA]="Yes";"Customer";"Prospect")
- You want FieldC to hold the count of how many fields have a "Yes" in it
The syntax will be [FieldD]=ifcount("="Yes";[FieldA];[FieldB];[FieldC])
If FieldA="Yes", FieldB="Yes", FieldC="No" then FieldD=2
TriggerCalc Pro also features an automatic syntax coloring editor

New in v. 2.0 (Pro version)
- A Prompt screen to run manual calculations for the current contact, current lookup or all contacts.
- A Syntax editor with automatic syntax coloring.
- A Preview and Test screen.
- A Syntax builder screen.
- Instead of writing the calculations directly in the command line, you may now reference a text file in which the calculations are saved. Great for readibility: it allows to increment your calculations, add comments, etc.
- The Format function is now supported: it allows to format strings, numbers, dates.
