Wouldn't you like to take ACT! beyond using it like a Rolodex?
Do you feel like...
Whether you have been left to your own devices to figure out how to best use ACT! or you want to find a way to train your entire staff, we have an option for you.
Cornerstone Solutions has been writing easy-to-understand software training for business people for over 20 years (which means we started in the DOS days).
Our ACT! user guides have a very simple and straightforward flow. A Description of each topic is displayed first. Following each "Description" is a step-by-step Procedure. (We would never bury this important information in a paragraph!)
After you have reviewed the basic information in the Procedure, you can try it out in the Exercise section. We have made an effort to ensure that no exercise is dependent upon the completion of a previous session. That way you can stop and start where you like or even skip around.
You can use this Sage ACT! QuickStudy Guide for classroom training or as an after-class reference tool (since you may have purchased site licenses and don't have manuals at your desk...never mind...ACT! doesn't come with paper manuals anymore.;-)
Easy to understand guides
I've always hated software documentation that says... "Click on the Exit command in the File menu at the top of the screen."
Why can't they give you instructions in sequence, with a minimum of descriptive verbiage, like ... "Click File, Exit"
And what about procedures that start with... "Click on the Format command." ...but they forgot to tell you that you need to be in the Design view to find that command?
I got tired of working with user guides like that and we have been writing our own since 1987. In any of our books you can pick and choose what sections you want to work with and dive right in. No section is ever dependent upon completing the previous section. Steps are clearly documented. We not only tell you how to do it, but why you would want to.
Oh ... by the way ... our manuals also contain a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor every now and then. We hope you'll forgive us and not groan too loudly.
My name is Susan Clark. I literally wrote the book on ACT! software. I'm the author of The Official ACT! Quick Study Guide.
In addition, I've been consulting with small to medium-sized businesses on their sales and marketing efforts for over 20 years (as well as with a Fortune 500 company every now and then). So, I know what works and what doesn't.
