Copy Data Between Records
With Copy Data Between Records, you get to insert a list of records in your layout. Upon clicking one, data from this record is copied to the current record, according to a predefined map of fields.
The list may contain contacts associated to the current contact (through a relationship), contacts from a group, opportunities associated to the current contact, contacts associated to the current opportunity, etc.
There are several scenarios depending on whether the list is in a contact, company, group or opportunity layout. See possible combinations
Let's say you want to be able to copy data from a contact to an opportunity. You could set up the add-on to list all of the contacts associated with the opportunity in a list that appears in your opportunity layout. Then upon selecting one of the contacts in the list, preset fields of your opportunity would be automatically populated with information from the selected contact.
The purpose of Copy Data Between Records is to display a list of records in your ACT! layout, so that upon selecting one of these records, data from the selected record is copied into the current one.
